Piercing Healing Times 

• Initially: some bleeding, localised swelling, tenderness, or bruising.

• During healing: itching, secretion of a whitish-yellow fluid that will form some crust on the Jewellery. The tissue may tighten around the Jewellery as it heals.

• A piercing may seem healed before the healing process is actually complete. This is because this type of wound will heal from the outside to the inside. Although it may feel fine on the outside, the interior could still be fragile. Be patient, and keep the piercing clean throughout the entire healing period.

• TIP: Piercings, even healed ones, can shrink or close in minutes, even after having been there for years! This varies from person to person; if you like your piercing, keep Jewellery in—do not leave it empty. If it falls out act fast sooner rather than later.
  

Downsizing Important Step

After 6 weeks you should book a downsize appointment to shorter the bar in the studio for cartilage piercings - and lobes also can be downsized. This is to reduce movement and the chance of catching knocks and the piercing changing angles! 6 weeks the piercing will not be healed so important this is done safely by your piercer.

Lobes  - 12-18 weeks +

Cartilage -  6months +      
Nose & Navel - 6months +   
                   

If something is wrong ….

Communication with your piercer is important please check you still have room left in your bar to accommodate for excessive swelling. We can safely upsize the bar and give advice on reducing swelling fast.

While gold plated slows any tarnishing, Proper care can significantly extend the life and appearance of your Jewellery  

• Remove your Jewellery & hoops during self care, wipe over the insides of the earning - body fluid can tarnish over a long period of time.  Perfume, Chlorine,  and many more substances can be harsh.

• Always put your Jewellery on last after all products used on the skin will have soaked in. Store your Jewellery away from other metals soft pouches are best.
